Analytic Geometry and Calculus 1
Limits, derivatives, optimization, and integrals. Required across engineering, CS, and pre-health; large curved sections make it a classic UF weed-out.
Typical workload: ~10 hrs/week outside class
Scheduled in 25 of 81 UF model plans, usually in semester 1 (freshman year) and part of critical tracking for 29 majors.
No prerequisites. Open to take anytime.
You need MAC 1147 or MAC 2311, and MAC 1147 first.
Survey of Calculus (business/life-science track) vs Analytic Geometry & Calculus (engineering/math track). Engineering, CS, and physics majors need MAC 2311; switching later costs a semester.
