Prototype data
Where the data comes from: the course inventory, major requirements (model semester plans and critical tracking), gen ed designations, Quest and Writing Requirement word counts, and term offerings are scraped from the public UF catalog and ONE.UF schedule of courses as a point-in-time snapshot. Offerings change every term, prerequisites have exceptions and co-requisite paths this tool simplifies (boolean "and/or" logic is parsed from catalog text), and difficulty ratings are reputation-based estimates on flagship-track courses and level-based estimates everywhere else.
Gen Ed and elective groups are templates: the universal Gen Ed structure (C/M/H/S/B/P, D and N overlays, Quest, 24,000-word Writing Requirement) applies to most majors, but some programs substitute or embed these differently, and "department electives" pools approximate each major's technical elective rules. Your official degree audit in ONE.UF is the source of truth.
This tool is not academic advising. Degree audits, registration holds, transfer credit, and major-specific policies live with your academic advisor and ONE.UF. Treat TrackPilot as a way to ask better questions in that meeting, not a replacement for it.
Career timelines shift. Recruiting calendars (especially in finance and quant) move earlier almost every cycle. Verify current timelines with career services and people who recruited recently.
