CHM 2045
General Chemistry 1
Atomic structure, stoichiometry, bonding, thermochemistry, and gas laws. One of UF's classic weed-out courses - large lectures and curved exams. Taken with CHM 2045L.
Typical workload: ~10 hrs/week outside class
Scheduled in 27 of 81 UF model plans, usually in semester 1 (freshman year) and part of critical tracking for 25 majors.
You need one of CHM 1025, CHM 1025, MAC 1147, or MAC 1140 first.
General Chemistry vs the applied engineering variant. Check which one your major's tracking rules list before defaulting to CHM 2045.
